Four years of turning social impact into stories that move people.

NIIT Foundation, established in 2004, works across education, digital literacy, employability, financial literacy, community development and inclusive skilling — with a mission to reach underserved communities across India. Business context

NIIT Foundation, established in 2004, works across education, digital literacy, employability, financial literacy, community development and inclusive skilling — with a mission to reach underserved communities across India. For four years, Kivashe has worked alongside the Foundation as its storytelling partner, covering events, CSR initiatives, community programs and, most importantly, the people whose lives were touched by them.

The problem

Impact was happening — but the story needed to travel further. CSR outcomes often stay confined to the people present at the program: an event ends, a training centre closes for the day, a beneficiary returns home. The challenge was not simply to document what happened, but to communicate why it mattered — going beyond conventional event coverage to put beneficiaries and their journeys at the centre.

What we discovered

The strongest stories were never about infrastructure. A computer is not the story — the person learning to use it is. A training centre is not the story — the opportunity it creates is. A CSR initiative is not the story — the life it changes is. This human-first truth shaped the way we approached interviews, visuals, environments and narratives.

What we changed

We shifted the work from documentation to institutional storytelling. Events were captured as human narratives, not ceremonies. Program films stopped saying “this program was conducted” and started saying “this is what changed because this program existed.” CSR initiatives like the IT on Wheels mobile digital learning program became stories audiences could see, feel and understand.

Performance

Four years. Multiple programs. Multiple events and initiatives. Countless human moments. One continuing story of impact — and a credible visual archive of the Foundation's journey that one-off production agencies rarely achieve, built on deep context: the people, programs, language and philosophy of NIIT Foundation.

The strategic insight

Treat communication as a storytelling ecosystem, not a collection of individual videos: People → Purpose → Participation → Emotion → Impact. The camera became a storytelling tool that connected every event and program to the larger mission behind it.

Creative / campaign

Sixteen impact films and a continuous stream of visual narratives: The Program (initiative, implementation, beneficiaries and outcomes in one narrative), IT on Wheels (technology that reaches people), Impact in Action (the work on the ground, beyond institutional messaging) and Stories Beyond the Stage (a continuing journey of education, opportunity and inclusion).

The Program

Initiative, implementation, beneficiaries and outcomes — one complete narrative arc.

IT on Wheels

Technology that reaches people — digital learning that travels to the last mile.

Impact in Action

The work on the ground — beyond institutional messaging, into lived change.

Stories Beyond the Stage

A continuing journey of education, opportunity and inclusion.

Business outcome

Before

CSR activities existed as events, program reports, photographs and internal documentation.

After

the work lives as human stories, impact films, program narratives, beneficiary stories, CSR communication assets and stakeholder communication — a stronger bridge between what NIIT Foundation does and what audiences feel about that work. And the journey continues.
